The Master Ensuite: 3 Key Elements

There are many elements that make a beautiful master ensuite bathroom. Light, space, details, the stoneware, mirrors, to name a few. However, for a really luxurious bathroom experience, we believe there are three key elements, specific to the master ensuite, that have the power to make this space to most planned and coveted space in the home. For the real deal in your bathroom, come back to basics.

The Double Basin

Ensuite Bathroom Inspiration

Happy couples all swear by one thing as the key to their lasting serenity. The separate bathroom basin. And why wouldn’t they? With an action so mundane as washing your face and brushing your teeth, why not have the luxury of space and individuality? Even in a narrow master ensuite bathroom, a double basin set can be installed and can completely change this personal experience.

Concealed storage

Nothing ruins the luxury factor in a master ensuite bathroom more than an unsightly overload of bottles, clutter and general debris. In the design of your dream bathroom, consider how and where all the many unguents can be stored. The peace and quiet you have been looking forward to all day will be all the more rewarding. And not accompanied by the sigh of ‘why is there is all this stuff everywhere?!’

The dramatic bath

En suite Bathroom Inspiration

Along with space and clarity, a key piece of the luxury master ensuite bathing experience is the drama bath. A key to pure happiness in the home (we exaggerate not!) the bath must be a feature; requiring well thought out spacial design, accompanying space for limbs, candles and your glass of wine. Your bath robe should be nearby but not too close, as should your slippers or spa shoes.

Elements of design

It’s all about design and convenience, and that is what leads to a rewarding bathing experience which makes you want to come home early, every night. If you need help designing your bathroom, or putting together all the right pieces, get in touch with one of our designers at The Bathroom Cellar.

Inspirational Bathroom Ideas with a Difference

The thought of redecorating your bathroom can be quite overwhelming. From shower enclosures and ceramics to colour schemes and finishing touches, it’s tricky to know where to begin! So we’ve teamed up with Bathroom Brands to provide you with lots of bathroom inspiration, from contemporary schemes to luxurious bathrooms, with advice on how you can achieve these looks in your home.

The Traditional Bathroom

Traditionally-styled bathrooms remain a popular choice for many homeowners and designers due to their classic look and timeless appeal. To create your own luxurious, traditional bathroom, pair an exquisite freestanding roll top bath, such as the Batello from Burlington, or the Balthazar from Clearwater, with ornate panelling in soft muted tones, for an effortlessly grand traditional interior.

Black in the Bathroom

If you’re looking for a traditional bathroom with a twist, then Burlington’s latest range, Jet, is the perfect choice. Aptly named after the precious gemstone found along the Great British, North Yorkshire coastline, the capsule collection encapsulates the deepest blackness and high gloss qualities of Whitby Jet Stone.

Guaranteed to make a statement, Burlington’s most popular ceramics are now available in a glossy black finish so you can create a traditional bathroom with a difference. If black ceramics are not for you, but you’re still wanting to achieve a bathroom that brings in elements of this on-trend shade, then there are plenty of ways to add a touch of black to your bathing space. From black indices on brassware to wallpaper and tiles, there are a variety of options that will work with your chosen interior. For a bold, stylish scheme, pair matching high-shine ceramics with dark tropical wallpaper, or for a more lasting look, combine black ceramics with block coloured walls, which can easily be painted when trends change.

Contemporary Colour in the Bathroom

For a more contemporary approach to bathroom design, Britton is the perfect brand for you. With a variety of affordable products for the modern home, Britton provides a comprehensive selection of sleek ceramics and brassware along with a range of versatile storage solutions. Due to its modern style, Britton works perfectly in contemporary, colourful settings. We all know that colour influences our mood, so with the trend for colour in the bathroom growing, why not embrace it and opt for colour scheme that will make you feel happy and uplifted. Pastel shades of pink and blue are perfect for creating this feeling, so create a fun interior and get creative with colour. Combine sleek white ceramics with compact furniture solutions and add contrast by pairing with black brassware and accessories to complete your colourful bathroom.

Scandinavian Bathroom Style

To create contemporary aesthetic, but with a more luxurious, Scandinavian feel, pair a beautifully elegant freestanding modern bath from Clearwater with a minimalist interior. Add touches of natural wood with muted soft colours and neat surroundings for an immaculately tranquil and spa-like bathing space. Made from the finest materials and crafted by hand, each contemporary bath from Clearwater is guaranteed to make a striking statement, leaving you with a showstopping bathroom to be admired.

How do the World’s Most Luxurious Hotels Bring Premium Styling to Accessible Bathrooms? Three Must-See Tips

An accessible bathroom doesn’t have to mean bland rails and generic fittings. Why? Because The Bathroom Cellar’s range of NYMAS washroom products bring design-led expertise, developed for some of the world’s most high-end hotels, to your next project.

Our NYMAS range, from a UK-based company who specialise in creating visually impactful accessible washroom products, includes finishes and designs created to bring premium styling to washrooms where every detail counts.

Their peerless experience is proven through the work of their Fitzroy of London brand, seen in prestige properties such as The Assembly Hotel, Soho House, The Conduit Club and Flemings Hotel in London as well as Le Meridien Visconti Hotel, Rome, The Hoxton in Paris and many others.

We asked NYMAS specialist Brad Culmer, a respected influencer of luxury hospitality design, for his essential tips

Premium Styling for Accessible Washrooms: Think Finish

Brad explained that accessible bathroom products have changed beyond recognition. This means good news for anyone choosing washroom items for projects designed to create an impact.

“While they are still the right choice for many projects, the days of chrome or plastic being the only choice for items like grab rails and shower seats are very much gone.

“Instead, take a look at the finishes such as a stunning matt black, gold effect and brushed aluminium available from the NYMAStyle range. A selection of prestige finishes are available through the Fitzroy of London Gosfield range too.”

In short: For head-turning bathroom projects there’s no need to compromise on attention to detail when accessible products are needed. Explore the range of finishes available to make every item bring style to the room.

Premium Styling for Accessible Washrooms: A Must-See ‘Insider’ Tip

The NYMAS Director, who is globally recognised by top hospitality brands for his design knowledge, shared one tip everyone choosing accessible washroom products should see.

“It’s simple: look for innovation in the products you choose. Why? To find out if there’s a new way of thinking you could then use to make a washroom better, more effective or better value.

“For example, a removable grab rail can still bring high-end style and finish to a washroom with the advantage of being easily taken out of the room temporarily or even permanently if the property is being sold and a non-accessible bathroom is preferred.”

Think ahead to consider if accessible washroom products will always be needed in a room, or even if they’ll be removed temporarily, to factor this in to your choice of items.

Premium Styling for Accessible Washrooms: Think Big

Brad added that taking a look at the ‘big picture’ first then matching every detail will help create a washroom both accessible for all and designed to impress.

“Using inspiration from places like ELLE Decor’s 2020 bathroom trends, decide which colour choices, tile finishes and overall looks stand out and work backwards from there.

“You’ll notice that every celebrated design includes important details like brass fittings. Having your overall in vision in mind then making sure every detail works hard for the overall appearance will give a perfect balance.”
