Business Development Manager – Specification Sales

Location: Kent, Surrey, Sussex & London | Full-time

Salacia is the UK’s ultimate independent luxury bathroom showroom and contract merchant. We supply and deliver high-end sanitaryware, bespoke bathroom furniture, and architectural finishes to private clients, designers, developers, and the super-prime sector across the South East and London.

We are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team, driving specification sales across house builders, hospitality projects, and high-end bespoke residential developments.

The Role

• Develop and secure project specifications across your target accounts.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and supporting technical documents.
• Act as the go-to account manager for your clients, ensuring consistent support and trusted relationships.
• Maintain and nurture existing accounts while driving new business opportunities.
• Represent Salacia’s values of exceptional service, design knowledge, and long-term partnership.

The Candidate

• Proven background in bathroom specification sales is essential.
• Commercially driven with experience in residential developments, hospitality, or the luxury interiors sector.
• Excellent account management skills: organised, proactive, and relationship-focused.
• Confident outward salesperson with a deep understanding of the design and specification process.

Full-time permanent employment Monday-Friday 7.30am-5.00pm This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join a rapidly growing company who are passionate about the plumbing and bathroom industry. You will be joining a small, dedicated team with the sole aim of ensuring each and every customer walks away satisfied and keen to recommend. You will be based at our busy Plumbing Counter based on an idyllic farm in Cranbrook. The applicant must be enthusiastic, driven and have a willingness to learn. Industry knowledge and experience working on a plumbing counter would be preferred. You will be required to serve the trade counter, taking customer enquiries over the phone, processing orders / quotes, dealing with customer enquiries, picking orders, putting away stock. Role & Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter/showroom and providing excellent customer service
• Dealing with telephone enquiries
• Assisting with bathroom showroom enquiries
• Liaising with suppliers
• Processing orders
• Preparing customer quotations
• Customer order picking
• Checking goods in & out

Requirements

• Positive attitude and great work ethic
• Previous plumbing counter experience
• Full UK driving licence (Preferred)
• IT Literate – some experience with stock systems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible
• Self motivated
• Willingness to learn and experience all aspects of the business within the branch.

Our mission is to set the benchmark for independent bathroom retail and contracts in the UK, and we’re building a passionate team to make that happen. We are seeking a highly organised and efficient individual to join our growing team, supporting our Projects division. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines estimating, purchasing and customer service responsibilities. Key Responsibilities · Prepare specifications and quotations. · Utilising the CRM to maintain and track all opportunities and sales pipelines. · Liaise with suppliers to manage orders, lead times, and pricing. · Handle purchasing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. · Advising customers on appropriate products, pricing and lead times. · Provide excellent customer service, acting as a first point of contact for client queries. · Maintain accurate records and data using Excel and internal systems. · Support the wider team with administrative and operational tasks as required. About You · Extremely well organised with excellent attention to detail. · Confident using Excel and comfortable managing data. · Strong communication skills, with a professional and friendly manner. · Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. · The ideal candidate will be someone with experience within the bathroom or construction industry or from an estimating background. · Most importantly: you are willing to learn, proactive, and reliable. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, enthusiastic and growing team. We are located on an idyllic farm just outside of Cranbrook with a newly refurbished bathroom showroom and trade counter, 5 miles from Staplehurst Train station. The applicant must be enthusiastic, driven and have a willingness to learn. Plumbing & bathroom industry knowledge and experience is preferred, but training will be provided. You will be required to deal with new and existing enquiries, assist with the 3D modelling using Virtual Worlds software, produce design proposals, quotes and the fulfilment of the clients bathroom project from concept through to completion. Keeping up to date on the latest trends, partaking in product training and always continuing to expand your knowledge and creativity is imperative.
